I had a really bad day regarding anxiety. I hid in a bathroom for 30+ minutes and cried and tried to calm down and breathe and I just couldn’t get a handle on it. I had a really good conversation with someone who means a lot to me and made me feel better but it’s so crazy to me how people who don’t struggle with mental illness do not get it at all. They think you’re just not trying hard enough to heal yourself and it’s just frustrating because this isn’t something I choose? This isn’t something I wake up everyday to and think yeah, I’m gonna let this control me. It’s more than that. It’s something that I do not have control over and it’s so hard explaining that to people.
